BANDITRY: IGP deploys 275 officers to Zamfara State

The Inspector General of Police (IGP) has deployed 275 well trained police officers to executive the anti-banditry fight in Zamfara State.
The state’s Commissioner of Police, Mr. Abutu Yaro, announced this during the launch of Operation PUFF ADDER 2 at mobile police base in the state.
He said the IGP “approved the deployment of 275 well trained and agile PUFF ADDER operatives who have since arrived the state with combat readiness to complement existing security arrangements targeted at reclaiming the space earlier dominated by bandits and other criminal elements”, our correspondent quoted the CP to have said.
According to him, the CP assured the people that Operation PUFF ADDER 2 would be intelligence-led, community-driven and they it would operate in sustained collaboration with other sister agencies with sole aim of dislodging of recalcitrant bandits, who refused fail to embrace the ongoing peace process in the state.
CP Yaro called on members of the public to work hand in hand with the police and other security agencies in the collective task to safeguard life and property across the state.
In his remarks at ceremony, representative of the governor who is Commissioner in charge of security, Alhaji Abubakar Dauran, said the government would provide all the necessary support and logistics for the operatives to succeed.
