The Attah and Paramount Ruler of Aiyede Kingdom, Ekiti State, South West Nigeria, Oba Alhaji AbdulMumini Adebayo Orishagbemi, in his Eid-el-Fitr message has congratulated the Nigerian Muslim Ummah on their successful completion of this year’s Ramadan fasting.

He also congratulated the Sultan of Sokoto and Amirul Mu’muneen of Nigeria, Dr. Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, praising him for his quality based leadership that has offered selfless services not only to the traditional institution but, more importantly, the over 100 million Muslims in the country.

The Attah noted the successes the Ummah has recorded under the Sultan’s leadership such as quality representations in the larger society by President Muhammadu Buhari and Registrar of Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Professor Is-Haq Oloyede, among others whose times at their respective levels of national assignment have been generally applauded within Nigeria, on the African continent and in the world.

Oba Orishagbemi, who spoke through his media and publicity consultants, Defender Media Limited, said in spite of everything, the Sultan, President Buhari and Professor Oloyede should be assured of the confidence that Nigeria will remain grateful to them in history, as a State and as an Ummah.

The Attah went on to sympathise with Nigeria’s Federal Government, state, local governments, all citizens and residents over the current Coronavirus pandemic and asked that directives of government, guidance of health authorities and Sultan’s directives cancelling congregational Eid prayers on the outskirt of the town should be strictly adhered to, for the safety of lives.

According to the Chairman, Ekiti State Muslim Traditional Rulers Council, “Today is Eid but we should not forget that the celebration although in lockdown this year has its purposes. We should reflect and pray for better change in Nigeria, Africa and world.”

He said, “Sultan, our spiritual leader, who said we should not go to Eid congregation, sees beyond all of us, being the leader that Allah has chosen for us and who has led us well.

“Those who find faults in their trusted leaders do not really believe in Allah because the instructions of Allah is ‘Obey Allah, his messenger and those in position of authority among us’. Whoever therefore do not support effort to grow our Ummah and country and rid it of its current share of the pandemic is not part of us,” the Ekiti monarch said.

He then prayed for Nigeria, the leaders, the world and Muslims that “Allah helps heal our world of this pandemic and ease our ways and make us witness more Ramadan in life.”
