Another IPOB/ESN terrorist humbled, as police picks up Commander in Anambra

By OUR REPORTER

Operatives of the Anambra State Police Command Saturday arrested a top member of the proscribed terrorist group, Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), who also commanded its militant wing, the Eastern Security Network (ESN).

A source said that the commander was arrested in Ekwukobia in Aguata Local Government Area of the state on Saturday afternoon.

It was gathered that the ESN call commander was arrested in his house with a bullet wound after a tip-off to the police by concerned individuals.

Recall that there was a gun battle between security agents and gunmen in Ekwulobia on Friday, in which there were casualties on both sides, with many of the gunmen said to have escaped with bullet wounds.

Though the Public Relations Officer of the state police command, DSP Toochukwu Ikenga, could not confirm the arrest of the ESN operative, as his phone could not be reached, a senior police officer, who spoke with correspondent of an online newspaper (not The DEFENDER), confirmed the arrest.

The senior police officer, who preferred not to be named, said: “One Udebuan Sage Chubueze ‘M’, a top Commander of IPOB/ESN was arrested today (Saturday).

“The suspect was arrested with a gunshot injury on 29th October 2021. A search was conducted in his house at Ekwulobia and Nnewi where four AK-47, two automatic pump-action, and ammunition were recovered.

“The suspect confessed to have led several attacks on police facilities and responsible for the killings of several policemen and Naval personnel. We commend this breakthrough as this will further weaken the strength of IPOB/ESN against the security men,” he said.

He also said that investigation has begun and that the arrested operatives have been making useful confessions to security agents that can aid the arrest of his colleagues.

In the meantime, The DEFENDER gathered that it is now unveiling by hour that elements parading themselves as “powerfully prepared to librate the Biafra country” from Nigeria, world’s largest black nation they call zoo, are not more than a role of tissue paper in the face of firepower of troops of the country’s Army.

The elements, who are criminals operating under the auspices of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB)/Easter Security Network (ESN), have dared the Nigeria military and sister security agencies killing some and afflicting injuries on others.

But they have started being picked up one after another while those that engaged troops in gun duel get neutralised.
