Americans won’t debate suspension of Judge with questionable wealth in own country talk less in Nigeria, Nigerian Media challenged on patriotism
“Nigerians make me laugh, DO you think Americans would even debate the suspension of a judge with questionable wealth in their own country talk less of Nigeria? Why are you always looking for US validation for your stupidity?”
Nigerian Media may be in the eyes of the storm once again, as accusing fingers are being pointed at them for hyping news to signify their displeasure, in collaboration with some lawyers and opposition politicians, about the suspension of Walter Nkanu Samuel Onnoghen as Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN).
According to a Nigerian in Ibadan, Oyo State capital, who called the attention of The DEFENDER to this development in a message Sunday morning, the news of United States of America and United Kingdom rejecting the Onnoghen’s suspension was more like an internal arrangement within the Nigerian media community to give a voice to saboteurs of anti-corruption war in their own country as, according to the message, no foreign media reported such news in their own countries.
Noting that it was not possible that America government would take such a big decision as to rejecting an action against an allegedly corrupt chief custodian of Nigerian law without the White House knowing or being quoted to have so spoken, our source said Nigerian Media would need to cleanse themselves, just like the government has made effort to cleanse all the sectors including the executive, legislature, judiciary, banking and even the oil and gas sector, before the searchlight gets to them.
“No single US media refers to any news about the suspension of a Nigerian corrupt judge and a White House reaction.
“Where you folks get all these fantastic info from is amazing. Trump is trying to survive a humiliating political defeat by Pelosi; a defeat je welf inflicted by his foolhardy shutdown.
“On the other hand Mueller is indicting all his henchmen left and right and his noose his tightening.

According to the source, what happened was that American embassy made the statement flying around on their twitter page and she quoted the tweet:
“The Embassy of the United States is deeply concerned by the impact of the executive branch’s decision to suspend and replace the Chief Justice and head of the judicial branch without the support of the legislative branch on the eve of national and state elections … We urge that the issues raised by this decision be resolved swiftly and peacefully in accordance with due process, full respect for the rule of law, and the spirit of the Constitution of Nigeria.” Read the full statement by the U.S. Embassy on the Suspension and Replacement of the Nigerian Chief Justice and head of the judicial branch: http://bit.ly/2B64vCB U.S. Embassy Nigeria”.
She then said referring to a friend, “It does not mean it’s Trump speaking. We have the thieves everywhere but just like Atiku visit was not on their (US) media, this is not mentioned there too. This CJN (Onnoghen) will not last a day in office there (in US). We have terribly weak laws that favour the thieves. This to me is the restructuring we urgently need. Change of laws.”
