“Alhamdulillahi!” Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, Nigeria’s Kaduna State Governor, recovers from Coronavirus
By Our Reporter
It was a scream of “Alhamdulillahi” that is “Praise be to Allah” on Wednesday April 22, 2020, as a Nigerian sitting by our Correspondent in Lagos suddenly dropped his Android phone from which he read the breaking news that Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, has recovered from the world’s most virulent disease, Coronavirus.
His scream drew the attention leading to our check and it was el-Rufai himself, through the Twitter handles of three major sources of Samuel Aruwan, his spokesman, a presidential new media aide, Bashir Ahmad, and his own official handle, who broke the news.
The governor, in an apparently joyous mood, said that after four weeks of observing strict medical regime, he was now certified free disease having tested negative twice.
“I am delighted to report today, that after nearly four weeks of observing a strict medical regime, I have now received the all-clear after two consecutive negative test results,” he tweeted.
In further amplification of the good news, Buhari’s aide, Bashir Ahmad, tweeted: “FLASH: Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir
@elrufai has recovered from the deadly virus, COVID—19. Alhamdulillah, long days and good health, Mallam.”
