Oba Làmídì Àtàndá Adeyemi III, the Alaafin of Oyo, is an epitome of royalty, grace and repertoire of history, says Chief Oyèdélé Hakeem Àlàó, the governorship candidate of Alliance for Democracy (AD), on the 83rd birth anniversary of the royal father.
In a release by Omotayo Iyanda, his media spokesman, Chief Oyèdélé Hakeem Àlàó noted that “since Oba Làmídì Adeyemi ascended the throne of his forefathers in 1970, our first class Kabiyesi in Yoruba land has remained consistent in discharging his roles as a royal father in the areas as socio-political harmony and sustenance of our cultural ideals, norms and traditions.
“Oba Àtàndá Adeyemi, a boxer, has been playing a key role in unifying the country, particularly all Yoruba sons and daughters both in the country and in the diaspora.
“Of great attraction is the Kabiyesi’s role in the selection of governor of Oyo State and other political leaders over the years.
“Oyo town under His Imperial Majesty, Oba Làmídì Adeyemi, is always visited by political juggernauts across the country to seek his blessings and support and once you secure his nod you can be sure of victory at polls.
“Kabiyesi has been playing all these roles in an unparalleled grace and gaity, while waxing stronger, appearing younger in spite of the fact that he clocked 83 on 15 October, 2021.”
Chief Oyèdélé Hakeem Àlàó, the Asiwaju of Iroko, however, wished Oba Làmídì Àtàndá Adeyemi, more years in sound health on the throne of his forebears.
