Accounts of Russian consulates in Houston, New York were closed – Ambassador

The accounts of the Russian consulates in Houston and New York were closed by the Bank of America, Russian Ambassador to the US Anatoly Antonov said on Sunday.

“Essentially, the embassy is under a blockade by US government agencies,” he said on Rossiya-1 television. “The accounts of our two consulates general in Houston and New York were closed by the Bank of America.”

Antonov said employees of the embassy are receiving written and telephone threats. Exit from the embassy was blocked at some point during massive rallies, he said. Paint was thrown at the embassy property, Antonov said.

He said the actions by Washington are in line with the Russophobic policies now being pursued by the US. TASS
