Abuja airport runway 80 percent completed – Osinbajo

The Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo after inspecting the on-going resurfacing of the Abuja airport’s runway on Friday, said the work has gone up to 80 percent 12 days to its official opening.

Prof. Osinbajo with his entourage was led on the inspection by the Managing Director, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) Engr. Saleh Dunoma and the Director-General, Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) Capt. Muktar Usman.

The Vice President also expressed confidence with the work done and said the airport will be opened April 19th as planned.

“I have looked round and from what I have seen and also from the Information from contractors and  consultants, it looks as if things are going very well and we are told that we are now nearing 80 percent completion and that we are clearly on schedule’ he told journalist after the inspection.

“So, we expect to see that this will be completed well on schedule and I don’t think we should expect any delay whatsoever and we have assurances from the consultant, contractors that we are clearly on schedule. So, by the 19th of April, the runway will be set” the VP said.
