AAC Presidential Candidate, Sowore, returns from USA, kicks off campaign in Lagos
Presidential Candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Mr. Omoyele Sowore, returned to the country from the United States of America, on Thursday, and immediately proceeded to the kick-starting of his campaign as promised.
The DEFENDER had reported earlier Thursday based on calendar of the party’s activities that the campaign would kick off in Lagos November 22 to be followed by Kano November 23.
Preparation for the Sahara Reporters publisher’s presidential campaign started from 8 a.m. Thursday and the train did not leave the Isaac John Street, Ikeja GRA campaign office until 1 p. m. when the convoy of over 20 buses and some cars moved to welcome him at the Murtala International Airport Ikeja.
Sowore emerged through the arrival gate at exactly 4pm and made straight to speak with press men from where he, accompanied by his supporters mainly youths, moved to the Kodesoh/General Hospital junction bridge at the tail end of Ikeja GRA where the AAC candidate, hailed “Sai Bobo”, addressed the crowd.
He left the venue to the airport and had since jetted to Abuja preparatory to Friday activity in Kano.
Speaking earlier to mainly Nigerian Tribune, The DEFENDER and Pemium Times, which were the only media organisations that honoured his campaign organisation’s invitation, Mr. Sowore said he submitted himself to security check and appreciated that not much of his time was taken doing that.
He however said it was time for his party to take over the administration of the country come 2019.
