Go to Daura, ask retired General why he sold Nigeria’s crude oil for over 2 years ahead – Akpodoro
..explain how President Bola Tinubu has been getting the over N1 trillion he shares with states and local governments monthly since first month in office if Buhari truly sold the crude oil and collected its money before leaving office two years ahead.
In a recent statement, former militant leader Eshanekpe Israel, also known as Akpodoro, criticized a faction of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) for planning a protest, as reported by Vanguard.
He stated that the students should instead address their grievances to the former federal administration, questioning why it had sold Nigeria’s crude oil for up to two years in advance and collected the proceeds before leaving office.
Speaking from his Ughelli residence in Delta State, Akpodoro urged the splinter NANS group to direct their protests towards the past administration’s alleged financial decisions.
He said, “If Adewumi and his factional NANS must protest, which power they lack, the group should go to Daura on behalf of Nigerians, ask the retired General why he sold Nigeria’s crude oil for onward of 2 years ahead and collected the proceeds.
“We were alarmed to hear from the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr Yemi Cardoso, that the former administration sold out the nation’s crude for upward of two years and collected the revenue thereof. Tell Buhari to render his stewardship to your group and leave Nigerians out of the grip of your manipulators.”
Akpodoro emphasized that the only legitimate NANS leadership is led by Comrade Lucky Emonefe. He urged security agencies to target what he described as impostors and usurpers within the student movement, alleging that they are being used by opposition elements to incite civil unrest.
The planned protest, announced in a letter dated September 4, 2024, and circulated on social media by Okunomo Henry Adewumi, aims to shut down major cities on September 15 in response to the recent increase in fuel prices.
Akpodoro argued that the right to organize such protests rests solely with Comrade Omonefe’s NANS presidency and not with the faction planning the demonstration.
In the meantime, other Nigerians who reacted to the Akpodoro’s statement are asking him and “whoever is behind his illogical public misinformation to explain how President Bola Tinubu has been getting the over N1 trillion he shares with states and local governments monthly since his first year in office, if Buhari truly sold crude oil and collected its money before leaving office two years ahead.”
