RIVERS CRISIS: If they’re expecting Tinubu to intervene, they will be disappointed – Ajuri Ngelale
President Bola Tinubu’s Special Advisor on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, has stated that the FCT minister and his successor will be let down if they anticipate the President taking sides on the political situation between them.
Ngelale insisted that the president would not take a stance on the state’s political problem, saying instead that he would make sure the state had everything it needs to move forward.
He went on to say that President Tinubu had promised not to let any attempt to obstruct the Rivers State government’s ability to carry out its functions in a way that would not be advantageous to the residents of Rivers State.
According to a media report, he stated, “If they are banking on Mr. President to take sides on this matter, they’re mistaking, and they’ll be disappointed.”
“Mr. President will not do that. What he will do is ensure that everybody has what they need in order to work.”
The ascension of Mr. Fubara to the governorship of the oil-rich Rivers was facilitated by Wike, the immediate former governor. However, the fight for control of their party’s structure in the state led to a rift between the two soon after Fubara took office
