20th Sultan, a strong pillar to Muslim Ummah, Nigeria – Gov Matawalle

The Zamfara State Governor, Hon. Bello Matawalle, has described the 20th Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’as Abubakar, as a strong pillar to the Muslim Ummah in Nigeria.
This was contained in the governor’s good will message on Tuesday, 2 November, 2021 in Sokoto at a public lecture, titled “Religious understanding and Tolerance for Peaceful Co-existence in the developing World (Perspectives, Challenges and Prospects)”, organised in commemoration of the 15th anniversary of the Sultan.
The governor said the zeal, fashion and commitment with which Sultan Sa’ad Abubakar leads the Muslim Ummah has brought about unity, cohesion and peaceful co-existence among the Muslims in Nigeria and beyond.
The governor, who was represented at the occasion by the state Commissioner for information, Alhaji Ibrahim Dosara, said during the 15 years of the Sultan’s reign, he gallantly fought various frontiers in ensuring unity, love and understanding among Muslims, both within and outside the Sokoto Caliphate.
Governor Matawalle, who is also the Shattima of the Sokoto Caliphate, said the Sultan, who had been preaching peace and harmony among the Muslims, has brought about security and protection of the Muslim community and has set up an exemplary leadership in Nigeria and the international community.
The governor urged other leaders to emulate the Sultan in providing positive and purposeful leadership to always protect the Ummah.
The Shattiman Sokoto also appealed to all parents in the society to fulfill the responsibility of providing effective, efficient and and active control, with excellent upbringing for their respective families, to help in curtailing the menace of banditry and other criminal activities in the society.
