Police sources, according a media report, said that an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) and a Police Corporal were killed in the attack that saw the police station set on fire.

The attackers reportedly broke into a store where arms were kept and carted them away.

The Police have restricted movements around the burnt station, compounding the traffic woes of residents of the estate.

SP Geoffrey Ogbonna, Police Public Relations Officer in the State, Daily Trust said, neither responded to calls nor reply the text messages sent to him over the development which came a few weeks after a mob burnt down Omoba Police Station in Isiala-Ngwa South Local Government Area of Abia.

Burning of police stations was one of the fall out of the October #EndSARS crisis which Nnamdi Kanu and his terrorist IPOB group claimed to be fully involved in.

Over 20 stations were burnt and 22 officers killed during the #EndSARS crisis, according to police authorities.
