Senate President Bukola Saraki has said that the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, has no moral ground to remain in politics.

Saraki, who was apparently reacting to resuscitation of “Saraki Must Go” campaign, took advantage of the allegations against Oshiomhole that he collected kickback from APC aspirants in the wake of primary elections that left the party in crisis to reply the APC chairman that he should not be the one to lead such campaign against him.

Saraki, who recently emerged as national leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), described as a joke, a statement credited to Oshiomhole who asked him to resign his position as Senate President on moral grounds.

Speaking with journalists in Ilorin, on Wednesday, during the sixth fidau session in rememberance of his late father, Dr. Olusola Saraki, the Senate President said Oshiomhole had no locus standi to talk about morality in today’s Nigerian politics.

“That must be a joke coming from Oshiomhole talking about moral grounds. I think Oshiomhole has no locus standi to talk about morality today. Oshiomhole is somebody who is said to have been collecting not even naira but dollars from candidates and he is being accused by his party’s aspirants and governors. I don’t think he has any moral ground to continue to be in politics not to talk about being chairman of a party.

“I remember in those days even Oyegun, they never accused him of something like this. I have left that party; I’m sure the president (Buhari) based on integrity knows the right thing to do,” he said.
