Keyamo lampoons critics over “herdsmen” killings
Director of Information of the Muhammadu Buhari Campaign Organisation, Mr. Festus Keyamo (SAN), has taken as swipe on opposition and other critics who help them amplify their anti-Buhari hate campaign, challenging them to facts over the so called “herdsmen” killings in the country.
To the senior advocate, it is cheer irresponsibility and hypocrisy that those who are saying things have never been this bad do not tolerate the truth being told to them about what the situation was under their 16 years of ruling the affairs of the country before the Buhari Administration came on board on May 29, 2015.
Kayemo, who stated this on his twitter handle, said, “Some keep saying ‘it has never been this bad’, when referring to the herders’ crises. So, they’re the ones really comparing the past & the present. Yet, after doing their comparison, they forbid anyone else from reminding them what the situation was before now. How hypocritical!’” He said.
The opposition politicians lately have been generally accused as taking to mischief and wholeheartedly conjured falsehood over the real state of the nation lately.
They have preferred to celebrate negative, disaster and spreading of dangerous rumours and fake news in the presence of many positive achievements by the current administration of All Progressives Congress (APC)’s Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government, an attitude which has done more arms to the welfare and security of lives of people than imagine.
The DEFENDER found out that whereas the opposition and their supporting civil societies, misrepresenting the fight against corruption and impunity and politically motivated killings in the country as human rights violation, have forwarded over 100 petitions to the International Criminal Court (ICC) at The Hague, Kingdom of Netherlands calling for international criminal trials of their President, the World Court (ICC), instead, invited President Buhari as the only world leader to address it on his thoughts on corruption and impunity, which he did on Tuesday during his official visit to the Netherlands between Sunday and Tuesday.
On Ekiti, Nigerians are already feeling insulted that the main opposition party in the country, People’s Democratic Party (PDP), are taking them for a ride particularly with their fathomed allegations of police attacks, self-inflicted sickness, calculated efforts to cause conflicts and hand it on the now globally recognized anti-corruption, anti-insecurity czar that is the President of Nigeria, Buhari, all in a bid to escape justice over their corruption and atrocities against Nigeria and generality of citizens of the country.
Recall how Mr. Olisa Metuh, former National Publicity Secretary of the PDP have been falling down by himself in the courtroom during trial until the trial judge exposed him and ordered the trial should continue.
Recall also how a supposed member of governing APC now inbetween APC and PDP on transit for defection, Senator Dino Melaye, faked prolonged disease for him after jumping out of police vehicle to escape being taken to Lokoja, Kogi State capital for parade and onward prosecution over allegations he tactically dodged to clear himself from, of illegal possession of prohibited weapons and sponsoring of thugs who chose kidnapping, killings, armed robbery and other criminal means to destabilize Kogi State to discredit the sitting governor he has issues with, Alhaji Yahya Bello.
Most recently, how Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State blocked the way President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, would take into the Ekiti State capital of Ado-Ekiti for the mega rally in support APC candidate in the last July 14, 2018 governorship election in the state and how subsequently the governor incited the people of the state against the President saying his visit to the state was to come and kill them and asked all commercial vehicles operators not to work on the said day on promise that he would pay them N10,000 each for obeying him.
The DEFENDER also reports how, in efforts to discredit the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the security agencies, Governor Fayose fathomed police attacks during which he claimed he was slapped, kicked, dragged, shot at and teargased to the extent that he feigned hooked neck and broken limb.
All investigations by this online newspaper failed the test of evidence as there was no single witness to the claims of the governor. Unfortunately, our investigations further revealed, the main opposition and party of Governor Fayose, PDP, staged a major protests in Abuja over the fake claims of their governor in Ekiti and members of the party in some parts of the country staged protests acting on falsehood by the governor to the extent that Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State addressed a major press conference inciting Nigerians against President Muhammadu Buhari still acting on the fake claims of his counterpart in Ekiti State.
The peak of the political atrocities was when Governor Ayodele Fayose used the television and radio broadcasting services of Ekiti State to usurp the constitutional duty of the INEC by releasing illegal election results while the election was still underway on Saturday July 14 and doing that in favour of his party.
The action of the governor to have released fake election results have been described by many Nigerians particularly the Ekiti Rescue Group (ERG) as calculated attempt to cause conflict among the Ekiti people after they had peacefully conducted themselves for the day long election process.
While the ERG called for prosecution of the governor, whose tenure will end in less than 90 days, the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has since shutdown the Ekiti State television and radio stations for breaching the codes of broadcasting allowing the governor make use of them to release fake election results.
The DEFENDER can comfortably report that these and many other piled up atrocities being reasons Nigerians are saying members of the opposition are taking them for granted as they not only lie in their claims but also have tended to lay claim virtually all achievements of the ongoing Administration which they said they never saw during their 16 years of reign.
“Imagine that these PDP people including people we think are lawyers and learned among them who should have sense claiming that the Abuja Metro Railway that President Buhari just completed and commissioned is their own project! Even the Abuja-Kaduna Railway line that they did half-way but completed and commissioned by the President, which person in his right sense will ascribe that glory to PDP? Same thing is TSA, BVN, etc and particularly now, we are expecting how they will lay claim to the re-establishment of national career, Nigeria Air, after during their 16 years of administration they had killed the Nigerian Airways. Unfortunately they have failed to lay claim to the killings as their own creation even though we all know they are the owners of the killings yet Buhari does not bother, he is tackling the people behind the killings.
“But we are waiting for them since we do know quite well that it is because of approach of generation elections that they want to kill all Nigerians for them to now govern over ghosts,” a concerned Nigerian said ventilating his anger against the PDP.
Asked how he knew about opposition responsibility for the killings he said, “Okay, has Atiku Abubakar denied that he did not swear by Allah that he will ensure that President Buhari will not win 2019 election? How does a serial election contestants who is not in government and is not known for any integrity want to achieve actualization of his threat if not by desperate attempt including sponsoring killings to discredit the President?
“Just now he has said promised that Nigerians should give him one month if they vote for him as President that he will end Boko Haram and the herdsmen killings. Whereas many Nigerians are not really in deep thought over these things, we are not unaware of the antics of evil politicians but we are waiting for them,” he said.
No PDP person was disposed to speaking over the allegations against the embattled former ruling party when we asked them for their comments.
