The Akire prayed for wisdom, strength and grace for Governor Adeleke as he begins his second term, urging him to remain committed to serving the people of Osun State.

The Akirè of Ìkirè-Ilé Kingdom in Ọla-Oluwa Local Government Area of Osun State, His Royal Majesty Ọba Abdulazeez Olatunbosun Adebamiji, has congratulated Governor Ademola Adeleke on his victory in the August 15, 2026 governorship election, describing it as a renewed mandate from the people of the state.

In a congratulatory message personally signed by him, dated August 18, 2026 and sent to The DEFENDER on Tuesday, Oba Adebamiji attributed Adeleke’s victory to divine favour and the confidence reposed in his administration by the people of Osun State.

He urged the governor to regard the victory not merely as a personal achievement but as a renewed responsibility to the people, calling on him to govern with humility, integrity and fairness.

The monarch also appealed to Adeleke to use his second term to consolidate his achievements and address areas where his administration had fallen short during its first four years in office.

“Your Excellency sir, no one is perfect. In spite of the fact that you have tried very much to touch the lives of the Osun State people in all spheres of life in this concluding first four years in office, the hard truth is that your administration’s performance is still not perfect,” he said.

Adebamiji urged the governor to identify areas of concern and complaints and take deliberate steps to correct them, saying doing so would vindicate the confidence placed in him by the electorate.

He further called on Adeleke to prioritise policies that would promote peace, unity, accountability and sustainable development across communities in the state.

The Akire also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as his commitment to democratic principles and respect for the outcome of the electoral process.

According to him, the President’s alleged support for free, fair and credible elections demonstrated statesmanship and contributed to the strengthening of democracy in Nigeria.

He prayed for wisdom, strength and grace for Governor Adeleke as he begins his second term, urging him to remain committed to serving the people of Osun State.

“May the wisdom of Solomon guide your decisions, and may your administration continue to be a beacon of good governance, accountability, and service to humanity,” he said.

The traditional ruler concluded by congratulating Adeleke once again and wishing continued peace and progress for Osun State and Nigeria.
