Maryam Idris, A1 parallel BECE star, wins Ayat Model School scholarship
Maryam’s exceptional academic record has consistently distinguished her among her peers. Her outstanding performance in the BECE, where she achieved an A1 parallel, was an early indication of her intellectual brilliance and commitment to excellence.
Maryam Idris, the brilliant student who made headlines after recording A1 grades in all subjects in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), has added another remarkable feat to her growing list of academic accomplishments by securing a scholarship from Ayat Model School, Abeokuta.
The scholarship was awarded in recognition of her sterling academic performance during the 2025/2026 academic session, where she emerged as the overall best-performing student in the College arm of the school.
According to Director of School, Mr Toheeb Bakare, the scholarship award was a testament to her consistency, diligence, and academic excellence throughout the session.

Beyond excelling in internal examinations, Maryam has also made her mark in external academic competitions. She recently won second prize in the essay writing category at the 2026 Physics Day Competition organized by Crescent University, Abeokuta.
It is recalled that Maryam had also won a Silver Prize in the Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition in 2024 while in Soltab Comprehensive College, Abeokuta.
She follows the footsteps of her sister, Mujeebat Idris who won Bronze in the 2021 edition of Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition which gave her scholarship to study Law at Crescent University, Abeokuta.
