Security forces intensify efforts to rescue abducted Federal Polytechnic Kaura Namoda students

The Command disclosed that upon receiving the report, Joint Police Tactical Teams, alongside military personnel attached to Operation Fansar Yamma in Kaura Namoda, were immediately deployed to the scene. However, the attackers fled before security operatives arrived.
Security agencies in Zamfara State have stepped up efforts to rescue students abducted during an early morning attack in Kaura Namoda Local Government Area.
According to a press statement issued by the Zamfara State Police Command, the incident occurred at about 4:00 a.m. on June 3, 2026, when suspected armed bandits stormed rented student accommodations on the outskirts of the Low-Cost Area in Kaura Namoda. During the attack, seven students of the Federal Polytechnic Kaura Namoda were abducted and taken to an unknown destination.
The Command disclosed that upon receiving the report, Joint Police Tactical Teams, alongside military personnel attached to Operation Fansar Yamma in Kaura Namoda, were immediately deployed to the scene. However, the attackers fled before security operatives arrived.
One of the abducted students reportedly escaped from the captors and has since been reunited with authorities.
The Police Command stated that search-and-rescue operations have been intensified, with security forces working tirelessly to ensure the safe release of the remaining victims. Efforts are also ongoing to track down and apprehend those responsible for the attack.
The Command urged residents to remain calm and cooperate with security agencies by providing credible and timely information to support ongoing operations. It assured the public that further updates would be communicated as developments unfold.
