Trump to invite Netanyahu to Washington for talks on ceasefire with Lebanon

In another indication of a win for the now newly emerged fourth world super power after Russia, China and America, United States President Donald Trump may have ceded to yet another of Tehran’s dictates of Lebanon inclusion in the ceasefire agreement signed in Islamabad recently, which lsrael denied, violated and Trump backed the violation.

After his unimpactful blockade of the Strait of Hormuz as Chinese tankers and other ships still sailed in and out of the Strait despite the blockade, the US president on Thursday April 16, 2026 announced plans to host high-level talks between Israel and Lebanon following his declaration of a ceasefire between the two countries.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump said he would invite Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin “Bibi” Netanyahu and Lebanese President Joseph Aoun to Washington for discussions at the White House.
He described the proposed meeting as the first meaningful dialogue between the two nations since 1983.
The DEFENDER reports that Iran has shown trustworthiness towards Lebanon by insisting that it would not abandon it to continued air attacks by Israel and, so, that it would consider Tel Aviv’s continued aggression against it as end of the ceasefire agreement signed in Pakistan at the instance of Trump.
With the US now conceding to that dictate of Iran despite its style of using untruth and propaganda, allegedly, to prosecute its joint military operations against one country yet failing, it means the Islamic Republic has proven and has finally itself and the entire Middle East countries including Gaza from the aggression that Israel perpetrates in the region.
The announcement by Trump comes amid renewed efforts to ease tensions in the region after years of limited direct engagement between Israel and Lebanon.
