He explained that Atiku consistently prioritises principled politics over opportunistic maneuvering, refusing to compromise his values for electoral advantage.

African Democratic Congress (ADC) Chieftain, Dele Momodu, has alleged that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s decision not to select Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, as his running mate in the 2023 presidential election have been justified following his recent actions.

Speaking in an interview with ARISE TV, Momodu claimed that the APC now regrets accommodating Wike within its government. “APC is thoroughly embarrassed today. But unfortunately for them, they brought in this bull into a china shop and they will have to live with it. In fact, I’m very excited because we forewarned them that this is one man that you will not be able to handle,” he said.

The ADC chieftain recalled criticism Atiku faced for rejecting Wike as his vice presidential candidate, with many political observers questioning his strategic judgment at the time. “People thought Atiku was stupid when he didn’t pick him as running mate. In fact, a lot of people called me: Atiku is not a good politician. He should have pretended and just appointed him and won and then dealt with him,” Momodu stated.

He explained that Atiku consistently prioritises principled politics over opportunistic maneuvering, refusing to compromise his values for electoral advantage.

According to Momodu, the former vice president operates without desperation, thuggery, or control over state resources for political patronage.
