Sultan of Sokoto commiserates with MUSWEN, University of Ibadan over loss of Prof Raji

He described Professor Raji as a devout Muslim who served the Ummah with diligence and whose immense contributions will be deeply missed.
The Sultan of Sokoto and President General of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), His Eminence Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, CFR, mni, HFNIM, has sent a word of encouragement to the President of Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria (MUSWEN), Alhaji Rasaki Oladejo, FCA, commiserating with him and the entire Muslims of the region and Nigeria in general in the difficult moment of losing a distinguished member and Chairman of its Secretariat Advisory Committee and university scholar, Professor AbdulGaniyu Raji, who passed away at the weekend.
The Sultan, who is Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, also commiserated with management of the premier university where the deceased was a notable lecturer.
His condolence message was contained in a statement by his media team dated Sunday December 21, 2025 and circulated to the media.
He described Professor Raji as a devout Muslim who served the Ummah with diligence and whose immense contributions will be deeply missed.
He prayed that Allah accept the soul of his servant, forgive his shortcomings and admit him into Al-Jannah Firdaos.
