KAURA NAMODA: Sultan of Sokoto grants 20 higher institution scholarships to Zamfara students

Sultan Abubakar said, “Considering the fact that having educated generation can curtail the menace of redundancy, illiteracy that may cause havoc in the community, these pupils need to be given quality education.”
Twenty students, who excelled at graduation from Ahmad Asha Institute of Arabic and Islamic Studies, Kaura Namoda, Zamfara State, North West Nigeria, have been granted scholarship to study various courses at the Federal Polytechnic Kaura Namoda.


The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, the philanthropist responsible for this long lasting human capital investment, announced the gesture Friday in Kaura Namoda, Kaura Namoda Local Government of Zamfara State at a graduation ceremony for 432 students of the Institute.
Sultan Abubakar said, “Considering the fact that having educated generation can curtail the menace of redundancy, illiteracy that may cause havoc in the community, these pupils need to be given quality education.”

According to the multifaceted leader, Retired General of the Nigerian Army, celebrated quint essential sports administrator, diplomat-turned Nigeria’s number one monarch and Africa’s one-of-four most influential traditional leaders, “the graduated students comprising males and females have really done a good job” and urged others to copy from them.

He added that he had already discussed with the Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Kaura Namoda to give cost of their studies to cater for the 20 most successful students for necessary action.
The Sultan further disclosed that another 20 pupils, who memorized the Holy Qur’an, would be given N100,000 each, “so also another category of 30 pupils who performed well during the display would be given N50,000 to boost their morale.
He hoped that in the next two years, he will come and attend another graduation ceremony of another batch of successful students.
The Sultan also thanked teachers of the Institute for their dedication to primary assignment, which yielded the positive results being witnessed, urging them to maintain their good attitude towards service.
In a related development, the Zamfara State Deputy Governor, Mani Malan Mummuni Masamar Mudi, announced a donation of N10 million to the Institute, saying that his principal, Governor Dauda Lawal, who had wanted to attend the very important ceremony, became unavoidably absent due to his tight schedule in other state matters.
“My master sent me to represent him because he was away, but his mind is here. I congratulate the graduated students both males and females.”
He added, “I should have a discussion with the officials of this great institution, so that Zamfara State Government can intervene in the areas that need such intervention,”
The Ahmad Asha Institute of Arabic and Islamic Studies Kaura Namoda was under the watch of Jama’a tu Izalatul Bid’ah Wa’ikamatus Sunnah, Kaura Namoda Local Government Office.
The graduation ceremony, held in Federal Polytechnic Kaura Namoda Hall, was graced aside the Sultan of Sokoto by all Emirs from the fourteen local government areas of the state including the Emir of Kaura Namoda, Dr. (Major) Sanusi Mohammed Aisha (Rtd), Emir of Zamfara, Dr. Attahiru Muhammad Ahmad, and Emir of Gusau, Alhaji AbduKadir Ibrahim Bello.
