But the media source insisted that, “How can a director of media in Ondo State be the one to confirm what happens in Lagos where we are? Our story is real because the person involved cannot deny that he has resigned.”

Information reaching us at The DEFENDER has indicated a situation of tension reigning at the Ikeja GRA national headquarters of the Grassroots Mobilisation for Tinubu (GMT).

This was said to have come from breakout of news, on Monday, September 8, 2025, revealing that the organisation’s hitherto Director of Administration, Honourable Lanre Ogunyemi, had resigned his appointment, according to a media report.

It could be recalled that Ogunyemi, a two-term member of the Lagos State House of Assembly and equally two-time state Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was actively involved in the training seminar organised by the GMT for its directors barely 48 hours earlier, on Saturday September 6, 2025, at Providence Hotel, GRA, Ikeja.

He was reportedly one of the resource persons at the event which was attended by participants from states such as Delta, Ogun, Oyo, Adamawa, and Kaduna.

When the news broke on Monday September 8, 2025 of Ogunyemi’s resignation, there was palpable tension in the group.

Staff were seen discussing the matter in hushed tone as Ogunyemi was one of the most loved and highly respected directors in the group.

Sources close to the politician confirmed his resignation, noting that the former lawmaker may have resigned to advance his committed struggle to contribute meaningfully to the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027 with like-minded individuals.

Fack-check by this global online newspaper, however, knocked out the information, as Director of Media of GMT Ondo State Branch, Ojo Oyewamide, said “there is nothing like the director resigning.”

But the media source insisted that, “How can a director of media in Ondo State be the one to confirm what happens in Lagos where we are? Our story is real because the person involved cannot deny that he has resigned.”
