75TH BIRTHDAY: Gen Olanrewaju salutes Oyinlola as ex-Osun Governor, Aregbesola, attends thanksgiving service

Former Minister of Communications of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Retired Major General Tajudeen Olanrewaju, has congratulated former Military Governor of Lagos State and Civilian Governor of Osun State, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, on the occasion of his 75th birthday.
Olanrewaju, a former Member of the country’s Provisional Ruling Council (PRC), made the congratulatory message through a message on Sunday February 8, 2026 just as Oyinlola’s successor as Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola, was in Okuku, attending the thanksgiving to mark 75th birthday anniversary of the Retired Army General-turned-politician.

At home in Osun, Aregbesola attended the thanksgiving service that took place at the Oba Moses Oyinlola Memorial Anglican Church in Okuku, Osun State.
Speaking at the event, the former governor expressed gratitude to Prince Oyinlola for his support during the 2014 re-election campaign, describing the backing he received at the time as memorable and deeply encouraging.
He praised Prince Oyinlola as a man of strong character and firm principles, noting that his values are rooted in the Yoruba Ọmọlúàbí tradition, reinforced by military discipline and guided by a strong Christian faith. According to him, the former governor is known for his loyalty, decisiveness, and commanding presence.
The speaker added that Prince Oyinlola’s personality often evokes strong reactions, which he described as a defining trait of impactful leadership. He noted that whether admired or opposed, the former governor leaves a lasting impression on people and institutions he encounters.
As Prince Oyinlola marked his platinum jubilee, the former governor extended warm congratulations to him and his family, offering prayers for good health, renewed strength, and continued service to God, humanity, and the nation.
