30 killed as bandits hit villages in Kaduna
No fewer than thirty people have been killed and several others injured following the invasion by gunmen on villages in Igabi and Giwa local government areas of Kaduna State.
The affected villages are Kerawa, Rago, Marina, Zariyawa, Hashimawa, Gidan Musa Saidu, and Unguwar Barau.
The bandits launched the attacks in what appears revengeful against the villagers whom they accused of providing information to security agencies which resulted in the killing of their members.
The military is carrying out offensive attacks on camps occupied by the bandits in forests within Giwa, Birnin Gwari and Igabi Local Government Areas of the state.
A source in the areas however told the bandits to stop deceiving themselves as he said, “There is no way you can intimidate us with death just because we help security agencies on ways they can protect us against your evils. We will never stop because there is no how we can achieve a peaceful if we, as people, do not cooperate with security forces in wiping out evildoers from our various communities in the country”.
A relief report however was that most of the bandits who came to attack the villages were wiped out by the military forces and police firepower who came in response to distressed calls for rescue.
