Zamfara to improve child enrollment drive in schools, says Gov Lawal

Zamfara State Government has re-affirmed its commitment to improving education of children in the state, particularly in the area of enrollment in schools.

Governor Dauda Lawal stated this, on Sunday June 1, 2025, while commemorating this year’s children day celebration and his two year anniversary in office, held in Gusau, the state capital.
The Governor, who was represented by the state Commissioner for Women, Children and Social Development, Dr Aisha M. Z. Anka, assured the children that his government would continue to make massive investments in the educational sector in order to bequeath a secured future to them.
He pledged that the government would also continue to carry out its primary duty towards promoting and protecting the right of every citizen, including the children.
At the event, Governor Lawal called on parents, guardians and teachers as well as traditional rulers to work harder in educating and protecting children in the state.
Also speaking, the Director Child, Hajiya Farida Abdulrazak Tigana commended the Zamfara State government for the total declaration of state of emergency on education.
In his speech, the Commissioner of Education Science and Technology, Malam Wadatau Madawaki, who was represented by Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Hajiya Maryam Yahaya Shantali, stated that the state government had declared a state of emergency on education, aiming at reforming the sector.
