Zamfara to commence air-lifting of pilgrims June 4

The Zamfara State Hajj Commission is to commence the airlifts of its pilgrims June 4, 2024.
This was disclosed by the Permanent Commissioner in charge of enlightenment da’wah and hadya of the Commission, Alhaji Iliyasu Buhari Maijega, while giving update to newsmen on the level of preparation on this years 2024 Hajj exercise in his office, on Tuesday.
He said adequate arrangement had been made in collaboration with National Hajj Commission (NAHCON) to ensure that Zamfara pilgrims are adequately taken care of.
He said Zamfara has 1,718 pilgrims due to sudden increase by Federal Government in the Hajj fare.
He further said various committees had been set up to ensure that the pilgrims are properly catered for both in Nigeria and Saudi Arabia as, according to him, government is fully prepared for the welfare of the pilgrims.
The committees include accommodation, transport, enlightenment and general welfare of the pilgrims.
Maijega said already various enlightenment and education programmes had been designed to ensure that the pilgrims were well educated and enlightened about the concept of performing acceptable pilgrimage.
Also, he said various Islamic scholars had been billed to address the pilgrims on various topics in respect of Hajj exercise.
According to him, the state has been divided into four zones for easy access to the pilgrims in the various local governments.
He called on pilgrims to be good ambassadors of Zamfara and Nigeria at large during the Holy Polgimage.
