Zamfara receives 68,982 doses of Modena COVID-19 vaccines

The Zamfara State Government has received 68,982 doses of Modena COVID-19 vaccines, donated by the American government.

Receiving the vaccines on behalf of the state government, the state House of Assembly Speaker, Nasiru Muazu Magarya, who is also the Chairman of COVID-19 in the state, thanked the American government for the donation and assured of judicious use of the vaccines.

He said the state had performed very well in the first phase of the excisse in the state by becoming the second state with the good strategy and implementation of the exercise in the country.

He further said Zamfara would maintain the tempo and do everything possible to ensure that all that were supposed to be vaccinated receive the vaccines.

Presenting the vaccines earlier, the representative of American Center for Disease Control in Nigeria, Hajia Halma Bola, said the vaccines were safe and were meant to be admistered to people from age of 18 and above.

She disclosed the rumour that the vaccines are for those who have not received any before,S even as she commended the Zamfara State Government for its performance in the first phase of the exercise and pleage to assist with All necessary logistics to ensure that people are vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus.
