Zamfara Police warns criminal elements in North West state

The new Zamfara State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ayuba Elkana, has expressed the combat readiness, determination and total commitment of police onslaught against recalcitrant bandits and other criminal elements in the state.
He said this was his command’s effort in partnership with state government, other security agencies, traditional rulers and religious leaders across the state.
He disclosed this while briefing journalists on his strategy to fight banditry and other crimes in the North West part.
CP Elkana said community policing, which is the policy trust of the Nigerian, police, would be strengthened and that people would be carried along and encouraged to actively participate in the policing affairs of their environments in order to checkmate activities of recalcitrant criminal elements.
He further said policing strategy would be intelligence driven based on community participation and engagement to embrace human security and development guided by strategy.
Elkana reiterated that the police would discharge its mandate in line with the constitutional provision and other professional ethics, while human rights violation, corrupt practices and other unprofessional conduct would not be tolerated.
