Zamfara new Deputy Governor sworn in

Senator Hassan Muhammad Nasiha has been sworn in as the new Deputy Governor of Zamfara State, in North West Nigeria.
He was sworn in on Wednesday in Gusau.
Nasiha, according a The DEFENDER’s report earlier on Wednesday, was nominated following the impeachment of former Deputy Governor Mahdi Aliyu Gusau, by the state House of Assembly.
Before his appointment, he was a serving Senator representing Zamfara Central in the Senate of the Federal Republic.
Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony, Governor Bello Matawalle charged the new Deputy Governor to discharge his duties diligently and efficiently.
He, further, said he was chosen based on his previous record of service, adding that Zamfara currently needs competent hand to assist in handling the security situation bedeviling the state.
Governor Matawalle, who himself became governor from the lower chamber of the National Assembly, expressed confidence in the ability of the new deputy governor to perform.
In his acceptance remarks, Muhammad Hassan Nasiha pledged to be loyal to the government and the Governor in particular, thanking Matawalle for choosing him to serve the state in the capacity of a second-in-command such as Deputy Governor of Zamfara State.
