Zamfara govt to clear all outstanding gratuities from 2015 to date, says PS

The Zamfara State Government has expressed its determination to settle all the outstanding gratuities owed retired workers of the state.

This was announced by the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Finance, Alhaji Muhammad Abubakar, who is also the Chairman ofbthe State Workers Pension Verification and Payment Committee, while giving updates on the performance of his committee to journalists in his office, on Monday February 19, 2024.

He said the state government had since commenced the payment of first batch of 2015, 2016 and 2017 which has since been verified .

He said so far over N600 million has been paid to over 413 workers already verified and further said those of 2018, 2019 and 2020 are undergoing similar verification and that they will all be settled as soon as their verification process is completed.

Subsequently, the PS added, those that fall in the remaining years of 2021, 2022 and 2023 would flow suit .

Alhaji Muhammad expressed satisfaction with the way the the exercise is going as all payments would be paid on time.

He, however, called on the beneficiaries to make proper use of the money and their benefits for the good families and in the overall interest of the society.

He appealed to the people of the state to support the rescue mission of the state governor, Dauda Lawal, which is aimed at salvaging Zamfara from its present situation.
