Zamfara Gov’s wife to sponsor education of boy orphaned by bandits’ attack

Zamfara State Ministry of Women, Children and Social Development has indicated intention to sponsor the education and welfare of a 6-year-old boy, whose video was trending on social media, expressing anger and grief over the killing of his father by bandits and vowing to take revenge.
This was made known by the Commissioner for Women, Children and Social Development, Dr. Nafisa Muhammad Maradun, while briefing newsmen on the steps taken by the state government to assist the boy.
The DEFENDER reports the Commissioner to have said that the First Lady, Hajiya Huriya Lawal, had directed her to find the boy and his mother so that they can be supported.
“The boy is now receiving counseling from specialists to improve his life and thinking in order to avoid what may arise in the future” the Commissioner has explained.
“We even supported the child’s mother with capital to start a business to ease her pain,” she said.
On their part, the boy and his mother thanked the wife of the governor and the Commissioner for the kind gesture.
