Zamfara Gov’s Aide debunks reported arrest of PDP official over gun running

The Special Adviser on Political Matters to Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State, Yahaya Abubakar Yari, has denied report carried by some newspapers (excluding The DEFENDER) that an official of PDP was arrested for gunrunning and banditry in the state.
He make the denial while speaking to journalists in his office in response to alleged arrest of PDP official in gunrunning and banditry in Zamfara state.
He said the purported member of the PDP was not a card carrying member of the party hence he was not known in the party since he was not a registered member.
Yahaya further said no genue party member can involved himself in such unholy act.He disclosed that any individual that commit any crime should carry his cross.
He said “PDP in Zamfara State was elected to fight banditry and other sundry crime so how can its registered member be involved or engage in such activities that are against the philosophy of the party.”
He said the security agencies were yet to inform of any arrest of PDP official in Zamfara state, 3ven as he said the alleged crime link to PDP member was the handwork of the opposition parties in the state.
Yahaya commended the security agencies for collaborating with the government to rid the state of bad elements in the society, saying the government of Governor Dauda Lawal was committed to fighting banditry as parts of its rescue mission but “will not take to blackmail from the opposition parties.
Recently there was a report from various media houses that the military had captured and paraded a PDP official from Shinkafi Local Government Area of the state.
The Governor’s political adviser further appealed to the people of the state to maximise their support for the government to achieve its agenda of rescue mission and further support the security agencies in the state in their efforts to curtail the menace of banditry.
