By IBRAHIM KANOMA, Gusau
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State has accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of sending its thugs, allegedly, to attack APC stalwarts’ properties in Kaura Namoda and Gusau during #EndBadGovernment protest in Gusau, the state capital.
The APC made the accusation in a press conference held in Gusau, which was addressed by its State Publicity Secretary APC, Malam Yusuf Idris Gusau.
Gusau said, in Kaura Namoda, the home of Senator Sahabi Ya’u was attacked with properties of several millions either carted away or vandalised by the alleged PDP thugs, who were mostly identifiable.
He further said properties of former Governor and current Minister of State for Defence, Mohammed Bello Matawalle, would have been vandalised if not for the protection provided by security agencies in the state.
The APC State Spokesnan called on PDP to caution their supporters against future occurance.
In the meantime, the APC state chapter has commended the security agencies in Zamfara for preventing attacks on properties of some stalwarts of the party by PDP thugs disguising as protesters against hunger.
In response to the accusation by the PDP, the Zamfara State Acting Chairman of PDP, Honourable Mukhtar Lugga who is also the Chief of Staff to Governor Dauda Lawal, said the accusation by APC is baseless and unfounded, as PDP members are known to be law abiding citizens.
He said PDP had no reason to order attack on any body in Zamfara, particularly on a Minister of the Republic.
He said APC should leave PDP alone to govern the state and deliver dividends of democracy as Governor Dauda Lawal is determined to fulfill his campain promises.
The PDP Zamfara State chapter further said its government in the state appreciated the contribution of President Bola Tinibu to the development of Zamfara State.
