*As extension of 10th Dan Fodio Week lecture to Ilorin explained

The Chairman of the Occasion at Ilorin Public lecture organised at the sidelines of 10th Usman Dan Fodio Week 1445/2023, Engr. Yusuf Lanre Sagaya, has commended the Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman Abdulrazaq, for providing enabling atmosphere for the peaceful and successful hosting of the event in Ilorin.
Sagaya, who is Zanna of Ilorin, stated this on Saturday while delivering his remarks shortly before the commencement of special lecture themed, “Paradise, the above of every beliver”, delivered by Sheikh Fariq Naik the son and “The Concept of God in Major World Religions ” delivered by Dr. Zakir Naik the father.
“However, with all the arrangements, the lecture will go beyond this vicinity and go viral to reach all intended audience across the globe. May Allah reward you and grant all of us the benefit of this occasion”, Shagaya said.
The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Mai Martaba Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, Emirs of Lafiagi, Shonga and Tsaragi, Olusin of Isanlu Isin, the Grand Khadi of Kwara State Shariah Court of Appeal, Justice AbdulLateef Kamaldeen, Registrar/Chief Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Professor Is-haq Oloyede, the Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, KAM Holding Limited, Dr. Kamoru Yusuf, as well as other dignitaries including several other traditional rulers and title holders were at the event.
The Chairman further noted that, “It is a great honour for me to be given the privilege and opportunity to be the chairman of today’s special occasion of the 10th annual Usman Dan Fodio lecture in the ancient Islamic City of Ilorin, the capital city of Kwara State.
“It is equally a great honour for us for His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, mni CFR, to host the lecture here in Ilorin, considering the historical connection between Ilorin Emirate and Sokoto Caliphate and also the personal influence of Ilorin on the Sultan who served a good part of his military life in the 80s in Ilorin.”
Engr. Sagaya said: “Thank you Your Eminence, Allah (SWT) will continue to bless you and reward your efforts on the propagation of Islam. I thank my father, the Emir of Ilorin for facilitating the programme through the efficient local organising committee headed by my brother, Engr. Abubakar Aduragba with other committed members.
“I also appreciate the support of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq CON, for the release of this hall for the event. I know that the guest lecturer, Dr. Zakir Naik, would have preferred an open field considering the turn out at his previous lectures, but in the wisdom of the organising committee, considering the convenience and security control, more so, when the lecture will be streamed live of social media, as you can see outside the hall is prepared for more crown.”
