*Inaugurates new Emir of Ilorin ultramodern palace

The Sultan of Sokoto and President General of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs ( NSCIA), Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, who departed the Sultan Abubakar International Airport on Friday, had arrived Ilorin Airport on a two-day official visit to Kwara State beginning same day.

The Sultan had just successfully concluded a weeklong event of the 10th Sheikh Usman Dan Fodio Week 1445/2023 at a grand finale that was attended by dignitaries from far and wide with world renowned Islamic preacher, Dr. Zakir Naik, attending the august event as chief guest lecturer on topic, “Al Qur’an The Global Necessity “.

Upon arrival in Kwara on Friday, the Sultan, who as multifaceted leader is also Chairman of the National Traditional Rulers Council of Nigeria (NTRCN) and co-President World Religions for Peace with headquarters in New York, was received by both the Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, and the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, who moved on to attend a special Jumat Service with the Sultan at the Central Mosque, Ilorin.

Also, members of the Ilorin Emirate Council, members of the Emirate Muslim Ummah, traditional title holders, groups and associations joined with many struggled to have glimpse of the Sultan, who was on ground with Dr. Zakir Naik at the mosque.

The two rakat jumat prayer was led by the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Dr. Muhammad Bashir Imam Soliu, who admonished Muslims to continue to pray for global peace and harmony.

He advised politicians to make life meaningful to the less privileged in the society stressing that everything on earth will vanish one day even as he advised them to emulate the good  conducts exhibited by past national heroes.

Imam Bashir Soliu also challenged leaders to have the fear of God in their hearts and understand the fact that people are suffering in Nigeria noting that there is need for peoples oriented policies to be adopted for the benefit of the entire humanity.

The Sultan also performed the inauguration ceremony of the ultra-modern Palace of the Emir of Ilorin named in his honour as Sultan Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar Villa.

He will attend a special lecture where Dr Zakir Naik is speaker today, Saturday November 4, 2023 before departing for Abuja along with his entourage.
