You have been buried politically already, Lauretta Onochie replies Wike

“Fubara will nominate your replacement before the end of 2026. Fubara is your new Godfather.” Mocking Wike, Lauretta Onochie asked him to “Say after me: Fubara Is My New Godfather. Good job.”
African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain, Lauretta Onochie, has replied to Mr. Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)’s earlier statement that he will be buried politically if Governor Siminalayi Fubara secures a second term.
She told Wike never to worry as he is already politically buried.
The minister, while speaking on Saturday January 3, 2026 during a stakeholders’ meeting in Okrika Local Government Area of Rivers State, said a decision had been made on Fubara’s second term ambition.
“We have made a decision as far as Tinubu is concerned. The other one (Fubara) — no way. Because if we make another mistake, then we will go and bury ourselves politically. I will not allow myself to be buried. I will not allow that mistake again,” he said.
“So everybody should know we have made a decision.”
Such comments from Wike indicate that he has resumed open attack on Fubara after the governor defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) last month.
The FCT minister accused Fubara of breaching the peace agreement reached before the lifting of the emergency rule in Rivers, which paved the way for him to return to office.
Reacting to the Minister, “You have been buried politically already.
“Not only have @officialABAT and @Hope_Uzodimma1 thrown you under the bus, the keys of the bus were handed over to @SimFubaraKSC. How he drives the bus, depends on how much of your pride you can swallow.
“Now, let me break it down for you: Fubara may get back the six months you and Pres Tinubu stole from him. Then Fubara will get a second term.
“Fubara will nominate your replacement before the end of 2026. Fubara is your new Godfather.”
