Yari donates 200 trucks of maize to Zamfara people

Former Governor of Zamfara State and Senator representing Zamfara West Senatorial District, Alhaji Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar (Shattiman Zamfara), has made a fresh donation of 200 trucks, this time, of maize for direct distribution to people across the state.
Chairman of the state distribution committee and the leader of the A A Yari political organization, Hon Lawal M Liman (Gabdon Kaura), disclosed this shortly after a meeting with state and local government distribution committees held in Gusau, the state capital, on Wednesday September 4, 2024.
According to him, Gusau, Gumi and Talata Mafara Local Government Areas would receive 20 trucks each while the remaining 11 Local Government Areas of the state would get 12 trucks each of the commodity.
The chairman explained that a total of 230,400 persons were targeted under the distribution pattern of the palliatives, with 1000 beneficiaries in each of the 147 electoral Wards of 11 LGAs to get 12 trucks while the remaining three LGAs will benefit with 1500 beneficiaries per Ward.
Speaking further, Hon. Liman emphasized that in the light of recent flooding in Gumi and high prices of food items in the market, the former Governor was compelled to make the gesture so that it would cushion the effect of hardship on the people by bringing down the prices of food stuff.
