We did our best to stop their defection but wish them the best, Buhari says about NASS defections as others wonder while Saraki can’t get his antics are known to all
*Confident defections won’t cause harm to APC
President Muhammadu Buhari Tuesday reacted to the defections from the All Progressives Congress (APC) of some lawmakers in the Senate and House of Representatives saying the governing Party did its best to stop their defection.
He however wished them the best of luck in their new party.
President Buhari said Tuesday in a statement that: “I wish all of our party members who today defected, the very best in their future undertakings. The APC has done its best to stop the defections, and I must commend the party leadership for working tirelessly to unite the party and position it for future victory.
“I am confident that no harm or injury will be done by these defections, to the APC and its aspirations. I urge party faithful to not despair, but to instead see this as something that happens in seasons like this, on the eve of elections.
President Buhari spoke just as some Nigerians are wondering how Senate President Bukola Saraki and his cohorts believe so much that they are smarter than the APC leaders they are dribbling.
One of them said, “Can you imagine that a medical doctor like Saraki would think that his antics to delay his defection in order to protect his position and take APC leaders by surprise are known to all incoluding President Buhari. See how failing some lawmakers have been in efforts to make themselves lords over all normal Nigerians. I only hope the APC will stop being people of rule of law beyond necessary and show these people in time before it is too late.”
