“Today, after some notable but no-longer-relevant Christian leaders like Oyedepo and Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah of Sokoto Catholic Diocese joined with another now frustrated Islamic cleric Sheikh Ahmad Gumi on Thursday October 11, 2018 met at his Abeokuta, Ogun State home to broker an ostensibly suspicious peace and reconciliation, AGAIN, between him and Atiku, the same former President Olusegun Obasanjo has told us that “Atiku is better than Buhari” and that he is the next Nigeria’s President and the world leaders who know Buhari for who is either in administrative technical know-how, competence or integrity, are watching the once-upon-a-time popular leader that is now overshadowed and surpassed by Buhari’s popularity and globally acknowledged respect and integrity.”
The gates of hell have now truly been let loose by Bishop Oyedepo, who is owner of Winners Chapel and Proprietor of Covenant University, Ota but one does not however know whether as the gates of hell to which he “has” the keys have now been let loose, the self-acclaimed man of God will not feel part of the heat.
Oyedepo did not let these gates of hell loose for nothing. The man talked about as one of few richest Africa’s pastor without a single industry as source of his wealth did so for former Vice President and another Fulani, a notable herdsman, who is now Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. And he has now been agreed with, doing so, by former President Olusegun Obasanjo, who in the buildup to 2015 general elections derided him for claiming to possess the keys to the gates of hell.
No one should forget so quickly that the reason Oyedepo and his colleague members of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), including Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah, have fought President Muhammadu Buhari in collaboration with PDP since the pre-2015 general elections is for two reasons: His being a Muslim and a Fulani. They had been so loud telling the world that General Buhari, if elected in 2015, would Islamise and Northernise Nigeria.
On that ground, not only have they, since the General’s electoral victory on March 28, 2015 through his day of inauguration on May 39, 2015 till date, been causing confusion in the land working hard to collapse Nigeria by their misrepresentations of killings they knew well were sponsored by the same group of desperate individuals/political party they are now acting as religious advisers for and by their threats of religious war supported by some ethnic jingoists namely; the Afenifere, the Ohaneze Ndigbo/Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) and some few middle-belters but also, they have never stopped to further held divide the country along ethnic and religious lines as they started trying to impress their Christian/South South’s Goodluck Ebele Jonathan on the people as the best president they would ever have.
Another way they insulted our sensibility is that, they think that all Nigerians are buyable with their questionable wealth not to have been following how they started these plots that they now have come to think are ripe for execution.
Many of us are not rich but we are not hungry and even if we are hungry (because the process of fixing the country, which is being frustrated by these jokers through their grip of National Assembly and the commerce of the nation, also affects us), we know this conspiracy of religious and political jokers plunged us into it and that we would not need any blood or obscure wealth to get out of it. We then know quite well that by concerted efforts, patriotically, cooperating with our sincere, uncorrupt, competent and integrity-based government to institutionalize how we get back to the Nigeria of our Father where things work, away from the Nigeria of “Few Owners” where things stopped to work since the moment of their collectively sponsored coup of December 31, 1983, we shall get there.
Suddenly but not surprisingly, they have found support in Olusegun Obasanjo, who once told the world that General Muhammadu Buhari was the best thing to happen to Nigeria in rescuing the country from the bloody corruption, impunity of highest degree and insecurity made flourish by their Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). That was at a time when Boko Haram had virtually taken over the whole of Nigeria and time a National Security Adviser (NSA) of the PDP-led Administration had confirmed to the world how the Boko Haram that became our national calamity was the making of the PDP government, so much that in the very eyes of the NSA before his demise by yet unraveled helicopter crash along with a PDP governor 27 Local Government Areas were already hoisted the flags of a Boko Haram’s so-called Islamic Republic in the North East without our military being able to challenge them; UNDER the PDP government!
Would anybody blame our military for their inability to face those superior powers of Boko Haram were already beating our gallant soldiers into retreat in neighbouring land of Cameroon? Not only the PDP was insincere about fighting the insurgency but also all the politicians and religious leaders of the party including these Oyedepo, Kukah led by CAN President Ayo Oritsejafor were all feeling great feeding fat on the money the PDP government claimed it earmarked to fight Boko Haram. No one should claim memory loss of how Oritsejafor’s jet plane “President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan presented him as birthday gift” was used to siphon a total of $9.3 million from Nigeria to South Africa under the disguise of working hard to purchase weapons for the Nigerian Armed Forces without the knowledge of the Chief of Defence Staff of the Federal Republic. Christian Association of Nigeria’s President Ayo Orisejafor!
We did not know how much of damages we had been unleashed until Muhammadu Buhari came, refused to appoint ministers because they failed to handover the books of government to his new administration, moved round some vital countries of the world and neighbouring countries to block the drainpipes through which the PDP and its spiritual and political advisers siphoned the nation’s money and imported weapons of destruction with which their thugs did the killings and national economy damages that Nigeria witnessed under their 16 years of their reign of terror.
It was then our eyes became open to why some Afenifere leaders suddenly fell for Jonathan 2015 project insisting that only the candidate they knew was ready to implement the 2014 National Confab report they got huge billions to put together and yet failed for another one year to implement they would support with their votes. We then saw how much Yoruba leaders like Chief Olu Falae got. He said it was meant for his party, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) but other party leaders cleared the party quickly by saying “no he got the money for himself”.
Haba! These people now desperately wanting to unseat Buhari in 2019, including the Bishops and that singularly corrupted Sheikh, saw how the blood of eminent Nigerians like Major General Muhammed Shua, Sheikh Mahmud Ja’far in Kano, another prominent Sheikh in Zaria, Kaduna State, many church people and Mosque people were being bombed and killed by Boko Haram yet they were more interested in sharing the money than to using it for what it was actually meant for; fighting to stop the killings by Boko Haram.
When Buhari came he not only blocked them from further earning from the blood money but also he blocked all their multifaceted banks account system with TSA and made sure that their happy style of amassing wealth through the spill of blood and sweats of the poor masses was blocked. Yes, these unfortunate coalition spiritual and political members are saying Buhari’s government is corrupt, we are not arguing it with them. But they should tell us whether it is today under the All Progressives Congress (APC) Federal Government led the Daura, Katsina State-born President possible for any public official to venture into corruptly taking a kobo from the treasury without having to think thrice.
That is what is making life difficult for them. It is no wonder a former Attorney-General of the Federation, a very well respected eminent Nigerian said, “Yes, things are hard but my satisfaction with the hardship of this time is that, unlike before when only the poor suffered hardship, the big wealthy Nigerians also share hugely from it”. And that became possible because contracts are now meant to be scattered all over competent contractors against what it used to be when only a man in power would have all the companies that took all contracts and still failed to execute the contracts. During their times contracts were celebrated in the media to have been awarded but at no time did the same media embark on follow up investigations as to how the contracts were executed. If anybody would dispute these, then let him or her tell the world particularly Nigerians how Buhari came to inherit over 1,600 contracts awarded, paid for but abandoned.
They should tell us what happened to the Obasanjo’s Power Project of $16 billion without power supply to Nigerians. They should tell us why they, in a rush, unbundled the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) formerly called NEPA, sold the franchise, all, to PDP members as GenCos, TCNs and DisCos. They made sure that before they left office after their electoral defeat in 2015 they put some measures in place to frustrate the incoming government of Muhammadu Buhari to discredit him for them to come back in 2019. They were so sure of that. Other media including The DEFENDER should go and find out why the PDP has failed to continue with their building of their all-cast ongoing National Secretariat in Abuja. I gathered that they made sure the nation’s accounts opened in various banks had different politicians – even those that were merely party leaders or members – as signatories so that even when APC/Buhari got to office, the PDP people would continue to drain the wealth of the country and to the discredit of the new people in government. They were perturbed that Buhari got those secrets and blocked them. That has been the reason for their desperation to remove him. BUT what legitimate means can corruption defeat integrity?
They embarked upon Niger Delta Avengers’ economic terrorism, which cost Buhari’s government billions of dollars unprepared for to pay counterpart funding of repairs of many of the oil installations they bombed in the Niger Delta. Reports have exposed how that Avengers group was formed by PDP government but Buhari refused to be hard on them yet they failed to appreciate his leniency. They were the ones responsible for the IPOB that later became a terrorist organization using Radio Biafra to cause conflicts in the land and PDP leaders like Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu, former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Charles Soludo all of them were loud in backing Nnamdi Kanu for doing that creating secret security equivalent of DSS in the land. They did more and then resulted later into sponsoring killings they tagged “herdsmen killings” and made sure the always ready religious bigots that Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) are known for were employed into the evil and those were the ones, later joined by some so called Retired Christian Generals and National Christian Elders Forum (NCEF), who were on top of their media hype saying no Muslim or Fulani must be voted for by Christians in 2019 because they say President Buhari sponsored Fulani herdsmen to kill Christians to Islamise and Northernise Nigeria. Another Retired Christian General in Lt. Gen. TY Danjuma then, after paying N100 million at the maiden convocation of Taraba State University, added his voice to disparage the Nigeria’s only most trusted military forces, the Army, of conniving with Fulani on an ethnic cleansing.
Reports of investigations into all of those CAN, Danjuma, Obasanjo’s claims are already out and with the government they want to unseat. They know Buhari has all the records of their atrocities against the innocent masses of this nation and that the President is aware and in possession of all the details of their treasons against the nation among which is the killings in Benue, Taraba, Plateau that are now found not to be Fulani but militiamen sponsored by these “irresponsible” politicians. They know that he may be slow but that as a steady leader, when Buhari strikes, their fate cannot be predicted.
That led them to the MoU of some 42 political parties and groups involving some so-called APC members like Bukola Saraki, Yakubu Dogara, Dino Melaye who became exposed until they, due to guilty conscience, jumped out of the ruling Party and moved back to their former party that Primate Elijah Babatunde Ayodele said has been cursed and which no Nigeria did not know was already accursed party. They have tangoed at the level of dollars spray and have come out with an Atiku Abubakar as Presidential Candidate of the PDP and have found their anointing in Olusegun Obasanjo of all people.
Today, after some notable but no-longer-relevant Christian leaders like Oyedepo and Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah of Sokoto Catholic Diocese joined with another now frustrated Islamic cleric Sheikh Ahmad Gumi on Thursday October 11, 2018 met at his Abeokuta, Ogun State home to broker an ostensibly suspicious peace and reconciliation, AGAIN, between him and Atiku, the same former President Olusegun Obasanjo has told us that “Atiku is better than Buhari” and that he is the next Nigeria’s President and the world leaders who know Buhari for who is either in administrative technical know-how, competence or integrity, are watching the once-upon-a-time popular leader that is now overshadowed and surpassed by Buhari’s popularity and globally acknowledged respect and integrity.
This now over 82 years old man has persistently failed to tell us exactly what went wrong between him and Buhari that, under one year that his supposed godson President came to power, he began to do the character damaging that he has embarked upon against him. Sometimes anyway, when the time for truth considered to be so much complex to reveal is ripe to come out, it is the attitude such as Obasanjo has been displaying that would make it happen.
