The Attah and Paramount Ruler of Aiyede Kingdom, Ekiti State, Oba Alhaji AbdulMumini Adebayo Orishagbemi, has described the death last Thursday July 2, 2020 of Ondo State Commissioner for Health and Chairman of the State’s Inter-Ministerial Committee on COVID-19, Dr. Abdul-Wahab Oluropo Adegbenro, as a ride shock still devastating.

The Ekiti senior monarch said the death of “this great man of honour is too heavy to be on my mind”.

Attah Orishagbemi said, “My personal interactions with him presented him to me as a great man but he never showed himself off to be. His humility had been exemplarily fantastic and I must confess as, since the news of his death, I am still devastated.”

In a message to The DEFENDER on Sunday, Oba AbdulMumini Orishagbemi said, “I have also heard many good words that people say about him during his lifetime and now in death. Adegbenro was indeed a great personality and that showed in the state government declaration of seven day of mourning with directives that all flags should fly in half-mast while a public holiday was also declared.

“I also wish to use this opportunity to thank the Governor of Ondo State, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN) the recognition and honour he accorded this great medical icon he described as a General, who died while healing others.”

He then prayed that God would, in his infinite mercy, heal the governor who is also currently in isolation since he tested positive for the Coronavirus.

“May Allah, who healed UK Moris Johnson, Governors Seyi Makinde, Nasir el-Rufai and others, also please heal Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu from this disease while I pray for other governors including my own Dr. Kayode Fayemi against the dangerous pandemic. May Allah guard all of us against the disease and heal them all who have contracted it, Amiin,” the Ekiti monarch prayed.
