UPDATED: President Tinubu’s ADC receives Staff of Office as new king of Kwara July 13
*Joins class of Army officers turning monarchs in Northern Nigeria

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Aide-De-Camp (ADC), Lt Col Nurudeen Yusuf, who was recently appointed the new Elemona of Ilemona Land in Oyun Local Government Area of Kwara State, will today, Saturday July 13, 2024, receive hs Staff of Office.
By his official instated today, Yusuf makes history as yet another Army officer to be enlisted into the most revered and professionally filled traditional institution in Nigeria.
Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, joined the institution as Brigadier General having been drafted from active service following the demise – in the late 2006 – of his elder brother and 19th Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar.
The latest status of such military membership enlistment into the Nigerian Traditional Institution, until the story of Nurudeen Yusuf emerged, stood “interestingly” with the Emir of Kaoran Namoda, His Royal Highness Alhaji (Major) Sanusi Muhammad Asha (Rtd), who was equally drafted from active service in 2020 as an anti-terrorism operations commander in the Nigerian Army.
Following the demise of his father, late Oba Yusuf Omokanye Oyekanmi, the former Elemona in May, the people of Ilemona, as expressed by the community’s king makers, decided to install Lt Col. Yusuf as their new traditional ruler.
Apart from being the heir apparent to the throne, the people of Ilemona have expressed admiration for Lt Col Yusuf for his act of kindness and humanitarian gestures to the community and its environs in the last few years.
Having received due authorization as stated and required by the tradition, custom and ethics of the Nigerian Army, the ADC accepted the decision of his people as the in-coming Elemona of Ilemona.
And after the approval of the Kwara State Governor and ratification of the Emir of Ilorin-led state’s Traditional Council of Chiefs, the presidential ADC is now set to be presented his Staff of Office by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq today, tomorrow Saturday 13th of July, 2024.
Oba Nurudeen Alowonle Yusuf, Fiwadade Ilufemiloye Oyekanmi II, the Elemona of Ilemona Land, upon his installation, is to appoint regent on the throne until his retirement from the military service.
