TWO YEARS IN OFFICE: Burkina Faso’s President Traoré delivers 5 major projects without ceremony

In a fascinating look at different leadership styles and priorities across Africa, Burkina Faso’s President, Captain Ibrahim Traore, came among leaders who have been in office for almost the same amount of time, yet their achievements tell a completely different stories.

From Ouagadougou, capital of Burkina Faso, The DEFENDER now member of a Pan-African body of The Gambia, can reliably report Captain Traore, who took power in November 2022, has quietly wrapped up five significant national projects without any fanfare or ribbon-cutting ceremonies.
In just two years, Burkina Faso under Traore has added to its stock of achievements: – Three agro-processing plants (for Tomato, Cotton, and Cashew Apple); – A Gold Refinery, – A Veterinary Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Unit
“What’s striking is that none of these projects were accompanied by elaborate media events or public celebrations — a conscious choice, analysts suggest, that showcases his “results-first” approach to leadership,” it was said.
Observers note that the stark differences between African presidents in terms of performances have raised important questions about their leadership focus, accountability, and the real delivery of public services especially in West Africa.
