Tinubu replaces Egbetokun with Tunji Disu as Nigeria’s new Inspector-General of Police

Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Assistant Inspector-General Tunji Disu as new Inspector-General of Police in the country, replacing Kayode Egbetokun.
A presidency source reportedly confirmed the development on Tuesday, stating that an official announcement would be made shortly.
“AIG Tunji Disu is the new IGP. Confirmed,” the source said, noting that the information had received “double confirmation.”
Egbetokun’s removal marks a significant leadership change at the helm of the Nigeria Police Force. The circumstances surrounding his replacement have not yet been officially disclosed.
