The Founder and Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Babatunde Ayodele, has claimed that Israel is not genuinely interested in pursuing peaceful dialogue with Hamas, alleging that its ultimate objective is to take control of Gaza.
Ayodele, in a statement on the ongoing tensions in the Middle East, said Israel’s reported interest in negotiations with Hamas should not be interpreted as a genuine commitment to a lasting peace agreement.
According to him, Israel intends to remain in Gaza, rebuild the territory on its own terms and ultimately establish control over the area.
“Israel is not ready to have any peaceful dialogue with Hamas. They are only deceiving them,” Ayodele said.
He added that efforts by the United States to facilitate a resolution would not necessarily result in Israel withdrawing from Gaza.

The cleric further warned Syria against relying heavily on the United States, arguing that Washington’s relationship with Damascus would primarily be driven by its strategic and economic interests.
Ayodele urged the Syrian authorities to exercise caution, saying the country was already in a vulnerable position and could face serious consequences if it placed excessive trust in America.
“Syria must be very careful because Syria is in a tight corner,” he said.
According to him, any dialogue involving Israel and the United States would be influenced by what both countries stand to gain from Syria.
He alleged that America’s growing closeness to Syria was motivated by “selfishness” and “greediness,” rather than purely by concern for the country’s interests.
“America’s closeness to Syria is propelled by selfishness, greediness. It is because of what they are going to gain in Syria,” Ayodele said.
He consequently advised Syria against depending too heavily on Washington, warning that such reliance could leave the country exposed.
“Syria now sleeps and relies so much on America; they are wasting their time,” he added.
