MMPN Celebrates Sultan at 70, Hails Him as Champion of Unity and Peace

According to MMPN, the Sultan has consistently emphasised truth, fairness, professionalism and responsible journalism as essential tools for promoting peace, national cohesion and peaceful coexistence.
The Muslim Media Practitioners of Nigeria (MMPN) has congratulated the Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), His Eminence Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, CFR, mni, on his 70th birthday.
In a statement signed by its National President, Abdurrahman Balogun, MMPN described the Sultan’s 70th birthday as a significant milestone, joining Nigerians, Muslims around the world, traditional rulers, religious leaders, government officials and members of the media community in celebrating his decades of service to Islam, Nigeria and humanity.
The organisation, which identified the Sultan as its Grand Patron, commended his leadership and described him as a source of inspiration and guidance to Muslim media practitioners.
According to MMPN, the Sultan has consistently emphasised truth, fairness, professionalism and responsible journalism as essential tools for promoting peace, national cohesion and peaceful coexistence.
The group also praised his leadership of the NSCIA, noting that he had continued to promote Islamic unity, interfaith understanding and peaceful coexistence among Nigerians across religious, ethnic and regional divides.
“MMPN particularly appreciates His Eminence’s unwavering support for the media and his recognition of the critical role journalists play in shaping public opinion, defending truth and advancing the common good,” the statement said.
The organisation further celebrated the Sultan’s wisdom, humility, courage and statesmanship, while acknowledging his contributions to the development of Islam and Nigeria.
MMPN prayed that Almighty Allah would grant the Sultan continued good health, wisdom and strength, as well as many more years of service to Islam, humanity and the nation.
