The Sultan, who arrived at the Akure Airport around 10.12 Tuesday morning, was received by the Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi.

The Sultan, who is President General, Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) and Chairman, National Traditional Rulers Council of Nigeria (NTRCN), drove straight to The Dome, venue of the event.

Major contenders in the election, who will sign the accord, are incumbent Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Eyitayo Jegede of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Deputy Governor Agboola Ajaiyi of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP).

Recall The DEFENDER had earlier broken the news of Sultan’s visit to Akure Tuesday and, although this being one-day official visit, it is the second time in 13 months that the Sariki Musulumi of Nigeria would be visiting to play cogent roles in the Ondo State capital.

He was in the ancient town between Sunday September 8 and Monday 9, 2019 as Chief Speaker on the occasion of Ulefunta Annual Public Lecture at the instance of the Deji of Akure.
