The indisputable symbol of unity and peaceful coexistence in Nigeria and Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, will jet into Akure, the Ondo State capital on Tuesday October 6, 2020.

The tedious but doable assignment he will be in the South West’s most sensitive state to do is to oversee and witness the signing of peace accord by major contenders in Saturday’s October 10, 2020 governorship election in the state.

The DEFENDER reports that the Sultan is a notable figure in the National Peace Committee that has been focusing on ensuring violent free electoral process and creating an understanding where all parties accept outcome of the process since 2015.

The multifaceted leader, who is also Chairman National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria (NCTRN) and President-General, Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), will return to base immediately after the all-important assignment same day.
