Staff jump down as 6-storey office building catches fire on Lagos Island

A six-storey office building housing among others a United Bank for Africa (UBA) branch on Lagos Island is currently on fire.

Details surrounding the cause of the fire are still sketchy but in a video trending on social media, some of the bank’s staff were seen attempting to jump down from the storey building.

The workers were captured in the video trying to escape through the windows.

As at the time of this report, emergency responders are yet to make official statements on the incident.

But it was observed that efforts to contain the situation are ongoing.
