By KEMI KASUMU
The Federal Government of Nigeria led by President Muhammadu Buhari is good to go with its commitment to commissioning more projects before the end of this year, The DEFENDER’s Abuja source has confirmed.
The President, which has completed and commissioned not only projects he initiated but also those awarded but abandoned or unstarted by past administrations, has gotten quite a good number of landmarks that his political party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidates can bring to the table as 2023 general elections will be about ability, performance and achievements.
Already the President’s unhidden achievements in the revival of railways, infrastructure, food security and economic diversification as well as delivering on his campaign promise to end Boko Haram are in place, while the newly brewed insecurity caused by some unpatriotic politicians and foreign influx are being holistically tackled.
In the four months that 2022 has left, President Muhammadu Buhari looks good completing several projects all of which will be commissioned as promised.
They include Siemens Power Project, Bonny Bridge, 2nd Niger Bridge, Lekki Seaport, Lagos – Ibadan Expressway, AirNigeria, Dangote Refinery, Kano – Maradi Rail, AKK gas project and Lagos-Badagry Expressway.
The DEFENDER reports that the Buhari’s Administration has been unarguably the best in terms of performance since the return of democracy in 1999 as it has managed to hold the country together economically, politically abs security wise amidst global reality that see super economies grumbly from the effects of pains and pangs of Coronavirus pandemic and United States of America-led western sanctions against Russia over its justified military operations in Ukraine.
It will be recalled that for the one year that the world, unprecedentedly wento lockdown and food exports countries such as China, Taiwan, India shut their borders to all forms of exports, Nigeria survived in terms of food security because of achievements of Buhari in the agricultural revolution that now see the country as one of producers of all kinds of food.
Although the administration suffers lack of cooperation from some sections of the Nigerian media and seone religious groups who have tried to paint the country under it as bad and killer of members of a particular religion whime pampering terrorism, truth, being constant, continues to appear to those that know it and that is working well for the government, whose leader, Buhari waxes stronger locally and also has ensured to see security and peace, not only in Nigeria but also abroad.
By the time he commissions the set of projects lined up for thevrest if this year, knowing that in election period like this for past governments performance had already stopped, not only that Nigeria will have a national carrier in terms of airline system that will carries the flag of the country globally but also, petroleum products will be refined locally both in PPP, Public Private Participated refinery of Dangote company that will augment the existing local refineries, established by same Buhari as Minister of Petroleum under a past military government thus ending the problem caused by fuel price hike in the country.
By then, there will be a Lagos-Ibadan Expressway that will be thorough in traffic and railways system that successive government, if committee to true nation building, will build upon to connect the country for ease of living and doing business.
